Imagine the impact that a 6.7 magnitude earthquake can have on a home not properly prepared. Imagine trying to move through your house to check on your loved ones after an earthquake. Would you be safe? What hazards would you encounter?
Did you know that the most common personal injury resulting from an earthquake is cut feet. Broken glass from picture frames, mirrors, or other glass objects can cause serious injury, and even death. A simple fix: secure your wall hangings and other items to reduce this risk.
The Getting Ready - Home Preparedness program takes you step-by-step through six simple activities. These activities will help you reduce your risk of injury and minimize damage to your home. Take time during the month of February to begin preparing your home against the impact of disasters. You can find resources to download and "how-to" videos to help you complete these activities at our Подготовка дома .
